REAL Services

Real Services has the responsibility of planning, developing, implementing and administering a network of services that are of high standards, are known, available and used by older adults and low income households in north central Indiana (Elkhart, Fulton (low-income only), Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties), based on their age and/or economic status.
The ultimate objective of REAL Services is to assist in establishing a community in which those we serve can maintain their independence to the maximum degree possible and find meaning and satisfaction throughout their lives

Habitat for Humanity

  • A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian Housing Ministry.
  • We seek to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
  • To accomplish these goals, we invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
  • Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his wife, Linda.
  • Today, we have built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

Hope Ministries seeks to transform hearts, minds and lives by engaging families and individuals in a Christ-centered, grace-based process of examining their current realities, envisioning their future possibilities, and enabling action to achieve their desired futures.

Meeting the needs of under-served populations in the community: Hope has chosen to focus on expanding services to two important groups that are under-served in this community:

Families: Hope is working to expand its capacity to serve more residents in-house by constructing an additional six family apartments, and is also exploring opportunities to provide services to families not living at Hope.

The Chronically Homeless: Numerous individuals in the community are dealing with significant substance abuse and/or mental health issues that keep them from entering residential programs like Hope and others in the community. Hope is actively working with the Continuum of Care Task Force to investigate the feasibility of a “low-demand” shelter in the community. Such a facility would keep these individuals off the streets and serve as a gateway to more intensive services over time.

Prairie Winds Farm provides a unique farm and wildlife habitat experience for the individual, groups and families.  They educate and entertain people while producing and selling local farm products in a way that protects and preserves our rural heritage.  Visitors connect with animals, nature and each other in real, unstaged way.  Expect direct contact with animals and soil and learn skills for sustainable food production.

Hello Gorgeous! of HOPE, Inc, is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to teach cancer patients and survivors to use hair pieces, milder lines of cosmetics and skin products and specific cometological knowledge to hide the damage done to the patients appearance due to the treatment of cancer.

We support The Great Logan Nose-On.  In 1988 LOGAN began selling green noses to raise money and awareness for local people with disabilities.  The items have since expanded.  Show your support, purchase green noses, wristbands, derbies and mint malted milk balls at our South Bend and Mishawaka offices.
