Chiropractic
medicine
is a branch of the healing arts, which is
based upon the understanding that good
health depends upon a normally functioning
nervous system. Chiropractic addresses
illness and injury by treating specific
musculoskeletal areas of the body, which are
functioning improperly.
Accidents, falls, stress, tension,
overexertion, and countless other factors
can result in displacement or derangement of
the spinal column, causing irritation to
spinal nerve roots.
How
About a Second Opinion?
If you or someone you know is suffering from
back pain and considering surgery, you need
a second opinion. The New England Journal of
Medicine reported that surgery is overused
for the treatment of back pain. In fact, the
average rate for all types of back surgery
is more than 40% higher in the US than in
any other country.
Furthermore, it should be noted that surgery
does not always improve the outcome and in
some cases can even make the condition
worse.
There is considerable evidence supporting
the use of conservative, non-surgical
treatment for back pain. We have prevented
many patients from going into often painful
and unnecessary surgery.
We use time-honored methods of consultation,
case history, physical examination,
laboratory analysis, and x-ray examination
to provide an accurate diagnosis.
Children
and Chiropractic Care
If the birthing process isn't traumatic
enough for the spine, the first few tries at
walking surely is!
As our children grow and become more active
in sports such as gymnastics, soccer,
football, tennis, or when they begin to play
musical instruments, their growing spines
are subjected to tremendous amounts of
stress. Chiropractic care can help to keep
our precious little one's spine in line.
Spinal alignment is so important, especially
when we grow. Many of the spinal problems
that we see in adults can be traced back to
childhood fall, injury, or more commonly,
poor posture resulting from carrying back
packs or spending endless hours playing
video or computer games. It is very
important at this developmental stage to
consider care for your child.
Treatment of our younger patients is
modified, and their developing bodies
respond remarkably well to treatment. |
